     Bleeding Love

My inspiration for this piece was how I could use many different textures. I also was going through a tough time and this was something that helped me feel better. Also, I thought it would be nice to do the heart.

I mapped out the heart and added light layers first. I then began to blend and added the smokey black background.

     Winter Gala

My love for colors and nature was my inspiration for this piece. I loved how the unity of the piece is so beautiful and how the different variety of the colors all crash together perfectly.

As always, I mapped out my piece. While using watercolor media you have to do your backwash first then add layers on top of layers, which is what I did. Once done with the layers I started my details.

     Autumn Evening

I chose this piece because I love colors and it was a very beautiful picture to me. It is also autumn right now and that is my favorite season.

I started my piece off by mapping the outlines of the path and trees out first. I used light blue as a wash for my background and yellow for my mid and foreground. But, before the mid and foreground washes, I had to add some masking fluid so the rays of the sun will be white and visible. Once the washes were dry I started to add yellow and orange to get the leaves form on the right side of my paper and added red on the left.

     Horses Break

My inspiration for this piece was my aunt, who loves horses. Also, my love for positivity and good luck.

I had to map out the bucket, apple, and horseshoe before I could outline it with the pen and ink. I made sure to get the lines as accurate as I could.

     Crazy Adventure

My inspiration for this piece was my close friend Jazlyn. She keeps a smile on my face and she is truly amazing. We keep each other laughing and she is just a bright person. She is crazy and outgoing, very adventurous, and goofy.

I started out drawing the puppet first then drawing Jazlyn on its shoulder. I added shading to the puppet first before doing anything else. I wasn't sure what to do with the background but soon decided on putting them on a long road. Friends helped me with the suggestion. I colored Jazlyn's hair bright pink because she has dyed hair. I colored the sky and formed clouds.

     Eyes See You

My inspiration for this piece was that Halloween is right around the corner and that a lot of people have a fear of spiders. I also thought it would be cool to have its eyes large and scary.

I started off by mapping the shape and eyes. Then, I painted the background and back colors. I had to apply many layers and blend a lot of different varieties of yellow. It was difficult because adding black to yellow makes it look green at times. After the back colors were done and dried, I started adding details.

     Holy Night

I loved creating this piece because I wanted to try out the texture in the wings and afro. My inspiration was the calmness of the night and beauty of the angel.

I created this piece by mapping out the outline and then using watercolors to add a wash. Then, I used ripped up pieces of magazine paper to create the night sky, dark forest, and walkway.

     Butterfly Box

The inspiration behind this piece is my mother, who is deceased. I have jewelry and little objects that belonged to her so this box will be great to put them in.

I had to start my slab box off by cutting out the bottom and sides of it and then the lid. Once those were done and attached to each other, I started to add the designs and slip trails. Once the box and lid were bone dry, I painted the finished piece.

     Meeting My Most Important

My mother was my inspiration for this piece. I used the back of my baby photograph and also I had figured using a fake flower that belonged to her would add a nice touch too.

I lightly outlined everything with a vine charcoal and then used the compressed to add darker values. I used colored charcoal for the flower, adding emphasis and beauty. The texture in the blanket was created by charcoal on my forefinger.
